How Does the South Beach Diet Work, Or How I can Get Into a Size Zero Safely?  

The South Beach Diet is one of the most famous diets today, when it comes to losing weight the healthy and safe way. It is the brainchild of Dr. Arthur Agatston.  Dr Agatston has graduated from New York University School of Medicine and has completed his cardiology fellowship at the New York University .  He created the South Beach Diet in the nineties, which have greatly helped his patients to lose weight.  

The South Beach Diet is supposed to be a diet for the people who love to eat and just cannot give in to their craving for food. The South Beach Diet has been said to be flexible, easy, effective and not to mention, practical, the magic word in any dieting program. The South Beach Diet is cut up into three phases, so that the learning curve is soft and simple for almost anyone to follow. 

During the first phase, the diet is aimed at reducing and destroying the cravings for unhealthy and fattening substances like sugar and refined starches. This phase lasts for around two weeks and is the shortest phase in the entire diet. The main purpose of the first phase is to stabilize blood sugar. This minimizing of blood sugar causes the cravings to be reduced and finally minimized greatly.  

Phase one definitely aims at eating nutritious food. This food includes fish, white meat poultry, lean protein, reduced fat cheese, eggs, unsaturated fats, nuts, seeds, and oils like the canola oil and extra virgin olive. 

In addition, the diet is not made up of boring and tasteless food. Actually speaking, you will not even feel that you re on a diet when you are on their exciting and tasty food like the Spicy Nut Mix, the Chilled Espresso Custard, the Lemon Mousse, the Ricotta Crème or even the Peanut Dip. Not to mention the various in between snacks and some weekend dinners those are a gourmet delight! 

The Phase 2 is the long term phase of the diet plan. This phase allows a lot more to eat than the phase 1, along with the ingredients that we have in phase one. Therefore, phase 2 has good crabs, whole wheat pasta, fruits, more vegetables, whole grain bread. Vegetables include pumpkin, sweet potatoes, and several others. 

Phase two also lets you allow the various snacks and desserts that were a part of the Phase 1.  

Meals in the Phase 2 include shrimp scampi, pesto pasta salad, coconut chicken, black bean quesadillas, while there are several tasty side dishes like the baked sweet potato fires, the nutty brown rice. Phase 2 also has various snacks, with cheese pop corn being just one of them.  

Phase 3 is just a following of the above two phases. Phase 3 just ensures that you follow the diet of phase one and phase two all through your lives, so that you live a happy, healthy, contented and satisfied lifestyle! 

A diet programme may not be suitable for teens but there are other ways for teens to lose weight.
